Class Descriptions

For Beginner to Athlete

"Bellies" classes are for pregnant women.
"Babies" classes are for mothers and babies.

*all classes are taught by Certified Prenatal and Postnatal Fitness Specialists

  

Pregnancy Fitness Classes:
All classes consist of a 30-minute prenatal discussion followed by a 45-60 minute workout.

cardio fit bellies:
Low impact aerobics, stretch & strength, muscle endurance.

cardio aqua bellies:
Aerobic workout in the pool - water resistance & buoyancy strengthens pregnant bodies, improves circulation, massages & relaxes working muscles.

yoga bellies:
Yoga breathing & postures strengthen muscles, improves flexibility, relieves tension in joints, increases energy, reduces stress.

pilates bellies:
Strengthens abdominal muscles, increases circulation, develops muscle strength, increases flexibilty, improves balance and coordination, helps with relaxation and teaches deep breathing techniques.

pregnant couples yoga:
5-week series. Bond with each other and the baby in utero and prepare for the labour and birth journey through classical partner yoga postures.

Postpartum Fitness Classes:
All of our postpartum classes include your baby(ies) Start classes anytime 4 wks post birth and continue until your baby starts crawling. All classes start with a 45-60 minute workout followed by a 30 minute discussion on various parenting topics.

Cardio aqua babies is the exception, a) babies must be 6mos or sitting up to participate and b) the discussion is first.

body blast babies:
designed to tone and build muscle using resistance bands and your baby. It is a total body workout targeting all the major muscle groups. You will leave the class feeling stronger and better able to cope with the stresses of your day.

cardio fit babies:
an energetic full body cardio and strength building workout designed specifically for pre and post natal women. The class will begin with 30 minutes of cardio, followed by 30 minutes of resistance training using the babies and the provided tubing and mats, with a peaceful stretch to finish the hour. Participants will be able to tailor the desired intensity, through instruction, to tone muscle groups and increase their metabolism. Stretching, balance, abs, kegel exercises and flexibility will be incorporated into the hour. Feel and look great after this class!.

yoga babies:
yoga postures for you, yoga postures for your baby, relaxation & discussion.

pilates babies:
strengthens abdominal muscles, increases circulation, develops muscle strength, increases flexibilty, improves balance and coordination, helps with relaxation and teaches deep breathing techniques.

cardio aqua babies:
aqua aerobic fitness class for mums with babies (6-18 mos) in the pool along side in special floatation seats. There is a 5 minute baby "swim lesson" at the end of class aquafit workout. Flotation seats are provided for babies.

family yogafit:
5-week series Saturday. As a family, practice traditional yoga techniques to strengthen the mind, body, spirit and the family bond. Great class for families with twins!

strollerfit:
Not just a walk in the park! Low impact aerobic workout while pushing babies in strollers. Picnic tables are used as equipment for push ups, leg lifts, abdominal work& stretches.
